Introduction[]
Book 1: After unlocking the ability to explore Elsewhere, the player can elect to do so every free morning starting on day 13. Before entering the portal in the basement of the Crowley, the player can pick up to 3 Companions, depending on their availability at the time.
Book 2: Starting on Day 119 morning, the player can roam the paths free mornings and evenings .
Encounters in Elsewhere are presented in the form of cards, and the player freely chooses which encounters to pursue. Every action in Elsewhere, whether it is flipping over a card to see what encounter it is, actually activating the encounter, or drawing a new set of cards through the "Shuffle all" button, costs one action. Initially the player will have 10 actions, getting 5 more for each Power level. Additionally, if Bella is in the party she can be spoken to at a Rest site once per outing to gain 5 more actions. Once the player has no more actions they will automatically return to the Crowley. Elsewhere can be left at any time(when not in a fight) through the "Return home" button.
One of the objectives when exploring Elsewhere is to find ingredients which can be sold to Chloe for cash or gems, as well as special ingredients which allow permanently upgrading the Crowley which in turn unlocks certain special events as well as the ability to work there during the night.

Combat[]
Combat encounters are represented by a picture of a monster that can be fought. The card will have a suit and a value, with the value giving an indication how challenging(and potentially rewarding) fighting this particular monster can be. What monsters can show up at any given time is determined by the player's level modified by the difficulty level.
Selecting one of these encounters will commence a Poker battle. If the player is victorious they will gain XP appropriate to the encounter and a random pick from the loot table associated with that particular monster. If the player loses a Poker battle in Elsewhere they will flee and this will end the entire outing, regardless of how many actions are remaining. It is thus recommended to save cards with opponents the player is unsure they can handle till the end of the outing.
A full listing of all the monsters one can encounter in Elsewhere is available on Elsewhere/Combat.
